Terms of service

The service

Porchlight sends one informational text, which you approve, to people who call your business number and don't get an answer, forwards their replies to you, and lets you send Google review requests to customers who agreed to receive a text. Automatic texting requires US carrier registration (A2P 10DLC) to be approved for your line. Until then the service runs in assisted mode, where you send the pre-written texts from your own phone.

Price, trial and cancellation

$97/month after a 30-day free trial, with no setup fee. Billing is through Stripe. Cancel any time by texting CANCEL from the owner mobile number on your account, or by emailing us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and we don't charge again after that. If automatic texting isn't live on your line by the end of your trial, we extend the trial.

Your responsibilities

  • You'll only use Porchlight to reply to people who called your business, and to send review requests to your own customers who agreed to receive a text.
  • You won't use it for marketing or promotional texts, cold outreach, purchased lists, or anything unlawful.
  • You'll keep your templates accurate, identify your business, and keep the STOP opt-out language.
  • You'll comply with laws that apply to your business, including telemarketing, consumer-protection, and privacy laws, and with Google's review policies (no incentives, no review gating).
  • You'll give accurate information for carrier registration.

What we don't promise

We can't promise any number of jobs, revenue, or reviews. Texts can be delayed or filtered by carriers, and service can be interrupted. Our total liability is limited to the fees you paid in the 3 months before a claim. The service is provided "as is" to the extent the law allows.

Suspension

We may pause service that's being misused, or that carriers flag, to protect callers and other clients.

Changes

We'll email you before material changes. Continuing to use the service means you accept them.
